Probate fees
Charges are based on an hourly rate between £250 – £325 /hour plus VAT.
Small Estates
- Under 3 beneficiaries
- Only 1 or 2 assets
- Plus 1 property
- Our costs are likely to be in the region of £6,000 to £8,000 plus VAT
Medium Estates
- 3 – 6 beneficiaries
- Various assets including investments, shareholdings and more than 1 bank account
- Plus 1 property
- Our costs are likely to be in the region of £8,000 to £15,000 plus VAT
Large Estates
- More than 6 beneficiaries
- Multiple bank accounts, mixed investments and shareholdings
- At least 1 property
- Our costs are likely to exceed £15,000 plus VAT.
The above estimates of costs may vary according to individual circumstances and we will advise you of any increase in costs should your matter be more complex
Preparation of Probate application only – £1,750 plus Vat
Preparation of IHT400 and Probate Application only – £3,500 plus VAT
Additional costs you may incur payable to third parties (ie: Probate Registry, Office of the Public Guardian fee, Land Registry searches, Identification checks, postal charges) will be advised if relevant to your case.

Quotes can be provided on request and will be confirmed at the initial meeting. Any additional work carried out which is not covered by the initial instructions received will be charged in accordance with our hourly rates.
